We're making plans for our return to Montana. I truly left my heart there. As Memorial Day came and went, it felt really strange to be here. Somewhere in my heart, I just KNEW I was supposed to be in Montana. We had decided against going, but last week Ben urged me to ask my boss for the time off. I did, and my boss said that was OK. YEAH!!!
It's a lot to prepare for. There's no power or water there. I'm now finding it takes mental preparation, also, to get ready for peeing in the woods on a regular basis, and keeping my hair in pigtails due to lack of opportunity to wash it. Still, I can't wait to get there and begin hiking those trails again.
The Beartooth Highway is closed this summer due to massive rockslides blocking the switchbacks. I'll miss it, but there are plenty of other places to go in the area, so even that's OK.
